It's been a while since declaring  'I AM THE BEST' but 2NE1 is ready to make a comeback!

Voted as 'THE MOST ANTICIPATED COMEBACK' by netizens, the four talented girls will be back in the Kpop scene with a brand new album this July! After the success of their previous album, what's not to anticipate?

부활 (BOOHWAL)- 사랑할수록 (THE MORE I LOVE)

부활 (BOOHWAL)'s immense fame now did not actually come easily to them but was earned through blood and sweat. They had many lead vocalists who came and go, and some, even to places that was far beyond our reach. What better song to promote Boohwal than 사랑할수록 (The More I Love)? This song brought Boohwal back together after Lee Seung Chul and Kim Tae Won went their separate ways.  

After regrouping, Boohwal released their third album in 1993, featuring the hit single, "사랑할수록 (The More I Love)". The album was a success but there's a very tragic story that comes with this amazing song. The original vocalist at the start of the recording, 김재기 (Kim Jae Gi) was involved in a traffic accident and unfortunately passed away. After his death, his younger brother, 김재희 (Kim Jae Hee) was scouted by 김태원 (Kim Tae Won) as he had that similar, distinctive vocals his brother possessed. 

I believe that Boohwal songs appeal to the public as its' lyrics just tells the story of their life. I know a lot of people in the music industry these days try their hand in composing and songwriting but not many succeed. Kim Tae Won, however, is one that did. His honest lyrics that tells the story of the band's hardships, the rise and fall, the pain and everything they went through together is what sets him apart from others. Not to mention, his lyrics aren't exactly easy to sing as it needs to match the color of the music he's trying to portray.

OH! Even Lee Seung Chul performed it with Boohwal before. There's so many different versions of this song! All good, of course :)

달마시안 (DALMATIAN)- E.R MV [ENG. | ROM. | HAN.]

I've only ever HEARD about DALMATIAN before this but never really paid attention to their music until recently stumbling upon their new music video, E.R. How should I describe it in one word?

HOT? 

Yup, definitely hot. 

Many people argue that the whole 'shirts-off' is so 2PM but HEY!, 

NO ONE

and I mean, NO ONE, complains when men rip their shirts off to show you some fine ass chocolate abs, okay? Case settled.

And there are even some who went as far to say that they stole Taeyang's signature mohawk hairstyle. 

Like COMEEEEEE ONNNNNNNNNNNNN. 

I know Taeyang was the first one to rock the mohawk (and of course, he looks amazing) but I say, whoever ELSE rocks it, can keep it. 

Okay, now on to more important matters. I absolutely LOVEEEEEEEEEEE this song! It's so addictive! Especially the chorus! It just gets me singing along all the time :D

Oh! And did I mention how much I LOVE LOVE LOVEEEE the rap style of this group? For one, Daniel's English is good. So that's easy on the ears and instantly becomes epic. And the back-and-forth rap lines by Simon and Inati is so awesome.

The dance moves are pretty sleek too! 

Here's their dance practice video for you to REALLY see the choreography. It's pretty awesome. I especially like the 'Oww, my head hurts but let's make it look cool' dance move. They're very synchronized with each other and you can tell how much sweat and blood is put into this practice. But then again, in this generation's K-pop world, if you can't sing AND dance, you won't stand a chance. So it's pretty much a doggy dog world! Nevertheless, I'll be keeping an eye on this group from now on :)

부활 (BOOHWAL)- RETURN TO INNOCENCE

THE KINGS OF K-ROCK ARE BACK! 

*standing ovation*

On June 8th 2012, they released their THIRTEENTH album, PURPLE WAVE. 
I don't know if my shallow knowledge on K-rock enables me to call myself a fan but if there's one thing I'm sure of;

THIS BAND IS AMAZING. 

Not only are they amazing, they're practically LIVING LEGENDS. 

I first heard about them when they were invited as featured legends of the week on Immortal Song II. The idols covered their songs and it just
BLEW MY MIND. 

Their FAMOUS songs like 희야 (Heeya) and 사랑할수록 (The More I Love) are just 
CRAZY GOOD and I'll definitely dedicate a post to them soon. 

In the meantime, back in the present, Return To Innocence is a song about them reminiscing their debut days.  정동하's vocals is like a perfect fit for the song. 
It's mellow but strong. Husky yet pertains to the rock genre. 
And of course, the blend of drums, electric guitar and awesomeness just makes the song 

AMAYYYYYZINGGGG.

Whenever you talk about Korean Hip Hop, there's always one group that comes to mind;

LEE TO THE SSANG! 

Recently releasing their 8th Unplugged album (and topping all charts), they've proved to us time and time again why they've stayed on top of their game all these years- 

THEY'RE THE FREAKING BOMB! 

No one puts pen to paper like these guys. 

Leessang is actually the MAIN reason I've taken an interest in K-HipHop. Before this, I never knew that it was possible to FEEL SO MUCH EMOTIONS from rap lyrics. But they've PROVED ME WRONG. 
And knowing how sentimental Gary is from Running Man, everything just naturally shows in his lyrics. 

Those words are as real as it gets. 

Accompanied by Gil's husky low voice and Jo Hyun Ah's haunting vocals, Pursuing The Happiness depicts Leessang's journey thus far of being artists and the 'Big Brother' of the K-HipHop entertainment industry. 

"On my pursuit of happiness, I endured for a long time so that someday, everything will shine."

"Why is my life like this?" Those words are just excuses. 

"Don't give up so easily on this game called life."

I recently came across an article citing weird animal best friends.

 Chimpanzee and white tiger as pictured above. 

Hippo and tortoise.

 Tigress and piglets. Yes, you read it right.

It just makes you wonder how these animals that have a natural predator-prey relationship could also become best friends. We humans on the other hand are meant to be the smartest of them all and yet, even the smallest of things could drive a wedge between the best of relationships.

각시탈 [GAKSITAL/ BRIDAL MASK]

SYNOPSIS

Gaksital is a famous manhwa set in the 1930s, during the Japanese occupation. The hero, Lee Kang-to, is known as ‘Gaksital’ because he wears a mask to hide his face — one of those traditional play masks, specifically the rosy-cheeked one reserved for the female role, aka the bride. He’s an unassuming young man in real life, but when he dons his superhero mask, he fights injustice and rights wrongs during one of the darkest periods of Korea’s history. The manhwa itself, written in 1974, is described as astoundingly contemporary, and deals with a myriad of social issues, still praised for its nationalistic stance.

 Here you go as promised! Big Bang's Monster video with Eng subs and romanized lyrics. The song is made especially more meaningful since it was penned by both GD and Daesung. On one level, the song is about loving and needing a girl so much, the guy don't understand why she's still leaving and declares that he's not a monster. Looking deeper into the lyrics, especially the first few lines, it's almost a confession of what GD and Daesung went through last year,'I act like it's fine. I try to change the subject' and 'Everyone may look at me with judging eyes' and reflects on the reaction they received - of people viewing them like they're monsters.
(Hey, the song is open to interpretation,right?)

Anyhow, it's still an AWESOME song as always and is visually captivating. I know there are mixed reactions about the hairstyles and all but hey, Big Bang is anything but ordinary ;)
